Nature Poetry Workshop with Heather Lang-Cassera

Celebrate birds as we write in a beautiful and encouraging environment. This workshop will explore poetic forms ranging from blackout poetry to ekphrasis, all steeped in the art of close looking. Flexible prompts, activities, and guidance will be provided. Poets of all levels will go home having written new poems in their own unique voices. This is a Nevada Humanities program. Registration encouraged for this free workshop.

Paper Bird Workshop with Bobbie Ann Howell

The hands-on art workshop will cover several folded paper bird patterns, cutting, folding, and coloring and detail design options. Nevada is part of the Pacific Flyway that many species of birds use to rest and feed during their annual migration as well as the many native species that call Nevada home.  This is a Nevada Humanities program.
