Event Description
Talia Lambarki, Area Director of Acti-Kare, was born in Chicago, IL, and was raised as a Bears fan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in English-Writing in 2002. She volunteered in hospitals and hospices for a few years before gaining full-time employment in the publishing industry. While working, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance. After graduating, she continued to work as a Copy Editor until the COVID pandemic.
Like so many others during the pandemic, she lost her job and adopted a puppy. But she also moved far away from the Midwest, finally. While unemployed in her new apartment in Nevada, she realized that through her rigorous training, work and volunteer experience, international travel, and adversity (both personal and professional), she had honed her problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. She dreamed of using those very skills—combined with her preternatural ability to empathize, respect for all humankind, and pure “grit”—in a robust, fulfilling career. After much consideration, she decided to become a franchisee of Acti-Kare.
Acti-Kare is a personal care agency that sends professionals to the home environment of vulnerable populations such as the infirm, injured, disabled, and elderly to provide nonmedical assistance including bathing, grooming, and light housekeeping. We also recommend services designed to help seniors age in place. She hopes this opportunity will allow her to address the needs of vulnerable populations, improve individual self-sufficiency through employment, and further develop the Henderson community.
