About Hussong's Mexican Cantina-Henderson
Hussong's Mexican Cantina-Henderson
Hussong's Mexican Cantina-Henderson, where tradition and innovation converge to create an unforgettable dining experience. With a legacy spanning 125 years, our roots trace back to Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, known as "The bar that built a town." Frequented by an eclectic mix of patrons including gunslingers, movie stars, and revolutionaries, our establishment has witnessed countless stories unfold within its walls.
At Hussong's, we take pride in our rich history, especially when it comes to our signature creation: the Margarita. In October 1941, bartender Don Carlos Orozco crafted the iconic cocktail using equal parts Tequila, Damiana, and lime, served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass for Margarita Henkel, daughter of the German Ambassador to Mexico. This historical moment, documented by the Ensenada Historical Society and confirmed by Margarita Henkel herself, marks the birth of the Margarita as we know it today. Upholding our legacy, we continue to serve The Original Margarita, hand-shaken with only the freshest ingredients.
As part of the Hussong’s family, our Cantina in Henderson carries on the tradition of excellence, offering a diverse menu of authentic Mexican cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. Whether you're joining us for a casual gathering or a special occasion, our warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for memorable moments shared with friends and family.
