About EyeCare4Kids
EyeCare4Kids provides professional eye care to low-income, visually-impaired children and underserved families.
The organization has helped more than 300,000 children receive professional eye exams, vision screenings and glasses, when needed.
Joseph Carbone, founder, and president of EyeCare4Kids has been a board-certified optician since 1975. He recognized the issue that many underprivileged families face not being able to afford or access professional eye care for their children. In 2001, he left his private practice to launch EyeCare4Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to providing as many kids as possible with eye care services.
Now, nearly 20 years later, EyeCare4Kids has locations in five areas nationwide. It owns family, school, and community-based clinics, as well as mobile clinics that bring services to the children and families in need.
