About UMC Foundation
UMC Foundation
The UMC Foundation, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the philanthropic arm of the renowned University Medical Center (UMC). Established in 1931, UMC has grown to become the state's foremost nonprofit public hospital, offering the highest level of care in Southern Nevada. Over the years, UMC has evolved from a humble 20-bed facility on a dirt road to a comprehensive academic medical center known for its dedication to innovation and community service. This transformation has included the establishment of specialized units like a burn care unit, a trauma and pediatric center, and the state's first freestanding Pediatric Emergency Department, ultimately culminating in the formation of UMC Children's Hospital in 2009.
Today, UMC is Nevada's premier healthcare institution, home to the state's only Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Verified Burn Center, and Center for Transplantation. UMC Children's Hospital is an esteemed associate member of the Children's Hospital Association, reflecting the hospital's commitment to pediatric care. The UMC Foundation plays a vital role in supporting UMC and UMC Children's Hospital through philanthropic donations. These contributions go directly towards life-saving crisis response efforts, patient care, and various other essential projects. The UMC Foundation invites both organizations and individual supporters to join hands in building a healthier, brighter future for Southern Nevada, with a dedicated team ready to collaborate and tailor charitable plans to meet specific goals.
