To support young students as they learn to read, as well as animals in our community in need of forever homes, G.C. Garcia, Inc. is partnering with Spread the Word Nevada and Heaven Can Wait Animal Society to host the second annual “Reading to Rescued Dogs” books and pet supplies donation drive. The drive, which will be held from now until March 31, will collect Pre-K thru 5th grade books for Spread the Word Nevada and much needed pet supplies for Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary.
The public can make a virtual donation of books, pet supplies or funds that will go directly to the chosen nonprofit or drop off supplies at these participating businesses listed at G.C. Garcia’s website, www.gcgarciainc.com/donationdrive

Expert panelists will cover the financial, legal and day-to-day aspects of owning a business. They will also provide tips to business owners and decision makers looking to transition to another business or start a new company.

Join the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) on Friday, March 4, 2022 for the State of Economic Development event.

The State of Economic Development brings together elected officials, as well as community and business leaders from Southern Nevada and across the state to celebrate our advancements and gain insight on the investments being made in Nevada through economic development and job creation.

Remarks will be followed by updates from city and county leaders working to advance new development and redevelopment throughout Southern Nevada.

In honor of National Women in Construction Week, the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) will hold the third annual “Hammers & Hope” event, geared towards introducing/highlighting the many construction industry career opportunities for women in the community, with a particular focus on women in need. “Hammers & Hope” will feature a panel discussion with industry experts providing information on the varied careers in construction and current/available training and job opportunities. Women professionals will lead “mentor” breakout sessions with interested attendees to provide an in-depth look at working “in the field,” how to get started, and what it takes to make construction a fulfilling lifelong career. In addition, the event will feature a career fair with representatives from across the construction industry, allowing participating professionals to recruit future workers and/or provide access to services.

What To Expect
We are excited to begin hosting a monthly, local, small
business Saturday pop up at the Dark Horse Tactical storefront.
Once a month, join us in our classroom to meet and
support other small businesses. Each month will feature
new businesses, as well as some of the staple favorites.
We are grateful for the opportunity to bring some of the
best businesses to our neighborhood, and to show some
of these businesses how amazing our community is.

Kids of all ages are welcome to learn basic gun safety with the Eddie Eagle GunSafe program. Eddie and his Wing Team teach kids what to do if they ever come across a gun.

Age-appropriate activity books will be handed provided for your child to take home as well as a matching Parent Guide.

Your child will also receive a Wing Team Certificate and Reward Sticker for completing the course.

After class, kids ages 7+ are invited to shoot a .22 caliber rifle on the range with an instructor (Range waivers for participants will be required).

Times will be 10:30am - Noon or 5:00-6:30 pm (includes optional range time). Classes are typically scheduled every month.

When signing up, please indicate in the comments section how many children (we do not need your children's names) will be attending and their grade level (Pre K-K, 1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd-4th Grade). This information will be used to determine class size and materials needed.
