Tech Alley Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada To Bring Joy To Kids For The Holidays!
Hosting Toy/Gift Drive Benefiting the Organization During Its Henderson Holiday Meet-Up on December 18th, 2024, 5-9pm At The
Pass Casino, Henderson!
HENDERSON, NEVADA (December 6, 2024) – Tech Alley, the nonprofit organization that provides a place for entrepreneurs, startups and tech enthusiasts to learn, gather, collaborate, and connect, is excited to announce this collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) to collect holiday toys and gifts for underserved youths participating in the program in the Las Vegas Valley.
Tech Alley, founded by Joshua Leavitt, aims to strengthen communities by bringing people together, fostering innovation, and engaging in educational workshops while creating an inclusive, diverse, and fun technology and startup culture. Tech Alley Henderson Chapter Leader, Lorraine Yarde, is leading the charge in the City of Henderson, and is working to energize the startup ecosystem and accelerate start-up activity within the community.
As part of the Tech Alley Henderson Holiday Meet-Up, attendees are being asked to bring a Toy or Gift in exchange for a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by various Henderson businesses. “As a mentor with BBBS I have experienced first-hand the valuable support and guidance the organization provides to at-risk youth”, said Lorraine.. “I am honored to be part of a program that transforms lives, where every child has the opportunity to succeed and am happy to be able to extend my support, with the goal of adding a smile to the faces of a few more kids this Holiday season!”
Kelly Schwarz, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, recently named the 2024 Executive of the Year – Non Profit at the prestigious Silver State Awards, is dedicated to empowering youth. “We are incredibly grateful to Tech Alley for their generous efforts in collecting toy donations for the families supported by Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their dedication to giving back and helping those in need makes a meaningful impact in our community. These donations will bring joy and smiles to many children and families, and we are truly thankful for their partnership and support.”, Kelly stated.
To demonstrate the positive impact the organization has on underserved youth in the community, Ms. Yarde’s 16 year old “Little Sister” will be presenting at the Holiday Meet-Up, talking about the challenges of juggling her school and college classes while operating her 4 current business ventures.
Tech Alley Henderson is also looking to partner with local businesses that can add value to and benefit from the organization.
