Goodwill® of Southern Nevada Recognized Among Best of Las Vegas in Four Categories
Special Needs Program and Workforce Development Services win Gold;
Consignment/Thrift Store and Nonprofit Organization win Silver
For the first time, Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) was named a winner in four categories in the annual Las Vegas Courier-Journal Best of Las Vegas edition: Special Needs Program (Gold), Workforce Development Services (Gold), Consignment/Thrift Store (Silver), and Nonprofit Organization (Silver).
“Goodwill is honored to be recognized among the Best of Las Vegas in four categories that together represent the heart of our mission: helping people train for and obtain local employment and upward mobility,” said Goodwill President and CEO Rick Neal. “Every day, our team members contribute to our vision of a thriving Southern Nevada community where every person who wants to work is employed and able to reach their full potential.”
Goodwill Disability Programs administer five carefully designed programs that enable high school special education students and adults living with disabilities to gain work experience and professional assessments to guide their future employment prospects.
Goodwill Career Services’ workforce development professionals provide free career coaching, training, and job placements that lead to employment and thriving careers as healthcare professionals, stagehands, truck drivers, welders, and other skilled trades.
Goodwill programs of service are funded by 17 thrift stores that welcome over 2,000 donation drops and 5,000 customers daily. In the first half of 2025, Goodwill will open two new thrift stores and a new, larger location for the popular Déjà Blue Boutique.
