Dignity Health Community Health Improvement Grants Award $379,500 to Nine Local Non-Profit Agencies

Annual Community Health Improvement Grant Program provides funding for programs benefiting southern Nevada Seniors, newborns, new mothers, school kids, families, and the unhoused

LAS VEGAS, February 14, 2025 –  Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, Nevada’s only faith-based, nonprofit hospital system, today announced the awarding of $379,500 in Community Health Improvement Grants to nine southern Nevada non-profit collaborations for 2025. Programs supported by the 2025 grants will assist Nevadans from Moapa to Boulder City, assisting newborns, new mothers, families, and seniors seeking to maintain their health and independence.

For more than 30 years, the Dignity Health Community Grants Program has upheld a tradition of funding local programs and organizations addressing critical health needs in the southern Nevada community. The program prioritizes preventative measures, engaging diverse community stakeholders, and building upon existing services.

“The Community Health Grants Program demonstrates Dignity Health’s ongoing commitment to serving our community.  We are incredibly proud to partner with these organizations to address critical health challenges and improve the well-being of vulnerable populations,” said Sister Katie McGrail, O.P., who chaired the grant committee.

Nationally, the Dignity Health Community Health Improvement Grants program has awarded more than $90 million to nearly 4,000 health improvement projects since 1991.  Grants are funded by contributions from member hospitals and support improved health and well-being for vulnerable and underserved populations.

This year's southern Nevada grants emphasize services for Seniors, young families, and the unhoused, focusing especially on needs in the areas of food security, medical resources, and transportation.

Sister Katie added, “We are deeply grateful for the dedication of these organizations and look forward to witnessing the positive impacts of their works in our community."
