CCCU Supports Southern Nevada Burn Foundation for Fire Prevention Month, Donates $2,500 to Camp Programs

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) has partnered with the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation to raise awareness for Fire Prevention Month and support programs that strengthen our community and protect families.

[LAS VEGAS, Nev.] October 9, 2025 – Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) has partnered with the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation to raise awareness for Fire Prevention Month and support programs that strengthen our community and protect families.

Led by local firefighters, the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation provides vital services to children and families impacted by fire-related trauma. The organization funds summer camps, counseling services and reintegration programs to help survivors heal socially and emotionally. In addition, the foundation delivers immediate relief following residential fires, collaborates with local fire agencies on prevention education and organizes annual toy drives for children affected by fires.

“Working with the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation during Fire Prevention Month is truly an honor.” said Shannon Hiller, Chief Marketing Officer at CCCU. “Many families are busy decorating their homes for the holidays with lights or electronic outdoor décor, so it’s the perfect time to share fire prevention tips related to outlet safety. CCCU is proud to contribute $2,500 to the foundation to support burn survivors and help raise awareness about fire safety in Southern Nevada.”

Fire Captain Erlantz Muguira shared, “When a family loses a home, it can take months, sometimes years, to rebuild. But for burn survivors, the road is often much longer. Recovery can take years and even decades. They may need to relearn how to walk, how to hold a pencil, or even how to use a utensil. Burn survivors face the toughest challenges moving forward.” Click this link for more tips and information from Captain Muguira.

CCCU members can show their support for local firefighters by selecting the CCCU's Firefighter debit card, designed by local firefighter Allan Albaitis, to honor the service and sacrifice of these first responders.
