Work Health Solutions Sponsors Launch of Las Vegas-Based Health and Safety Industry Group: Safety Allies Leadership Forum
New industry association provides opportunities for workplace safety professionals
to discuss best practices, share ideas and elevate the safety profession.
March 15, 2023 – Greater Sacramento, CA – Work Health Solutions, providers of concierge-style occupational health for large-scale employers nationwide, is sponsoring a newly launched industry group: Safety Allies Leadership Forum, a network of safety professionals based in Las Vegas whose mission is to advocate for workplace safety. The Forum will help provide information and facilitate communication between industry leaders to collaborate on workplace safety programs, discuss best practices, and share new ideas.
Industry professionals in Las Vegas are invited to enroll and become part of an active network of advocates working together toward one goal – to make the workplace safer – by visiting https://safetyallies.com/.
“I have been in this industry for a long time, and I am always looking to interact with like-minded individuals to discuss pressing issues. When I approached Work Health Solutions with the idea of creating a safety leadership forum, they thought it could be an extremely valuable tool for the industry,” said Ric Newell Founding Board member of Safety Allies and Director of Safety at Wynn Resorts Las Vegas. “They have been instrumental in helping us put the infrastructure in place to provide a collaborative environment for industry professionals fostering new innovations and creative solutions.”
Safety professionals from some of the most well-known properties in Las Vegas will be represented on the board of Safety Allies:
- Ric Newell - Founding Board member of Safety Allies and Director of Safety at Wynn Resorts Las Vegas
- Melony Wallace – Director of Safety at MGM Resort International
- CJ Meyers – Director of Safety and Risk at Allegiant Stadium
- Greg Goll – Vice President of Safety, Security and Risk Management at Palms Casino Resort
- Randy Conner - Regional VP of Risk Management at Westgate Resorts
- Rodd Weber – Executive Director of Safety and Quality at Penta Building Group
Bimonthly, in-person meetings in Las Vegas will offer a place for safety professionals to explore safety initiatives that are the heart of the profession, learn about current regulations and how they should be applied, mentor those interested in safety, share the passion and provide a great opportunity to elevate safety in our city. These sessions will not be taped nor will people be able to access them online, so privacy and the freedom to address real, topical issues will not be compromised. There will also be networking events, local meet and greet events to help connect industry professionals and an online forum.
(Events and resources are for registered members only)
The first event is scheduled to take place in-person at Wynn Resorts Las Vegas:
- Member Meeting - Tuesday, April 11 at 11:30am. Keynote speakers - William Gardner, Chief Administrator Officer of Nevada OSHA and Todd Schultz, Chief Administrative Officer, Safety Consultation and Training Section.
“As safety professionals ourselves, we thought it was a great idea to create a forum that would provide a place for safety colleagues to gather and discuss issues that are foremost on everyone’s minds. Being able to meet with others to have candid conversations to help drive the industry forward is invaluable. We only hope that everyone takes advantage of this opportunity,” said Dr. Letitia Heshmat, Founder and President of Work Health Solutions.
To become a member of Safety Allies, go to https://safetyallies.com/ to enroll.

Breathing easier? Not with the Philips CPAP Machine
Join our Webinar to Learn More About the Lawsuit
The Philips CPAP machine lawsuit has been making headlines recently, and for good reason. This lawsuit involves a potentially life-threatening defect in certain models of Philips Respironics CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator machines. The defect involves a foam component that degrades over time and releases toxic particles into the airway of the user, potentially causing cancer, respiratory failure, and other serious health complications.
The lawsuit alleges that Philips knew about this defect for years before issuing a recall, putting millions of people at risk. As a result, thousands of people have filed lawsuits against Philips, seeking compensation for their injuries.
If you or a loved one has been affected by the Philips CPAP machine defect, it is important to understand your legal rights and options. That's why our law firm is hosting a webinar to discuss the lawsuit and provide information on how to seek compensation for your injuries.
Are you a new member? A new representative to your company? Or, looking to learn more about your membership with the Henderson Chamber of Commerce? No matter the reason, we encourage you to attend our New Member Briefing. There is also a networking portion that takes place during the meeting.

At CBER’s Fall Economic Outlook last November, we introduced Roadmap 2040, a project on the future of the Greater Las Vegas over the next two decades. One of the questions we were seeking to answer is what an economically diversified Great Las Vegas would look like and how we might achieve it. At CBER’s Spring Economic Outlook on April 26, 2023, we will continue the conversation of Roadmap 2040 and economic diversification, bringing new voices to the conversation around urban development post pandemic and releasing groundbreaking research on how diversification and growth are tied to our workforce. We will also release the latest update to our economic forecasts through 2025 for both the U.S. and Southern Nevada economies while answering questions from attendees.
Speakers and panelists will be announced in the coming weeks.
