For 30 Years, S .A.F.E. House has been dedicated to Stopping Abuse in the Family Environment by providing safe shelter, support, advocacy, counseling, and education. Located in Henderson, NV, we also assist individuals with rental assistance, food, daycare, resume building, and other critical needs. S.A.F.E. House is able to provide these services FREE of charge to victim/survivors of domestic violence and their children through the support of our community. We love Henderson and our community, so we are exited to have an evening of fun on Water St.

Celebrate birds as we write in a beautiful and encouraging environment. This workshop will explore poetic forms ranging from blackout poetry to ekphrasis, all steeped in the art of close looking. Flexible prompts, activities, and guidance will be provided. Poets of all levels will go home having written new poems in their own unique voices. This is a Nevada Humanities program. The hands-on art workshop will cover several folded paper bird patterns, cutting, folding, and coloring and detail design options. Nevada is part of the Pacific Flyway that many species of birds use to rest and feed during their annual migration as well as the many native species that call Nevada home.  This is a Nevada Humanities program. Registration encouraged for this free workshop.
